I have extensive experience in 12V wiring, electronics and instrument building, and a bagful of tools that tell me what resistances, etc., are there. I followed the installation sheet instructions exactly, the stereo worked the first day, driving the speakers (4 ohms) perfectly. The first day ONLY, mind you. On the morning of the second day, the case was hot - despite the power being OFF, something in the unit had stayed on, drawing 4 Amps all night, and when I turned it on, the display flashed MISWIRED. No amount of troubleshooting (yes, I went everywhere online, the manufacturer's FAQs, other people's discussions, etc.) could fix it; I went over EVERYTHING and there was no miswiring in the installation. Here's the rub: because it was "fulfilled by Amazon" but the seller was NOT Amazon, the seller's policy (no returns or refunds on car stereos unless you provide documentary proof that it was professionally installed) means that we now, after one day of service, are out $70. Which renders this unit very NOT worth it. So if you decide to buy this attractively-priced turkey, make sure you have a professional installer who leaves a paper trail, and even then, a non-Amazon seller may only accept car stereo units for repair, NOT for replacement or refund. Unlike Amazon's own electronics policy. Be warned.
P.S. Since we were out $70 anyway, I opened the unit up and at the back (right side rear) of the main board there was smoke staining on the inside of the case and char at a couple of points on the board. The seller we used has no more of these units for sale, although other sellers are still happily selling them at the same price. Not a good sign.
