(More customer reviews)I have been using my swiftpoint mouse for a few weeks and have come to rely on it.
I was originally excited to have it for art/design. I thought it would help me avoid getting an aching hand or RSI when from my laptop touchpad using design programmes like Photoshop and Final Cut, that require a lot of mouse/touchpad action. Also, I hoped that it would be a more convenient solution when setting up and adjusting a video as part of an art installation using a mac mini and projector - sometimes the mac mini has been mounted in hard-to-access places, and I have had trouble using conventional mouses or even a mac bluetooth mouse. The swiftpoint has proved fantastic for these applications, and my hand no longer aches, even after a few hours of editing images/video. It has become so fast and intuitive using the swiftpoint that I now get frustrated when I have to use someone else's computer who doesnt have one.
But one unexpected major plus: I am a new mum, and during hours of feeding, I had been watching videos etc on my laptop. Before having the swiftpoint, I was always awkwardly juggling baby and laptop when trying to reach to stop/start/change volume etc etc. Now, I can keep my laptop at a good viewing distance away on the coffee table, and adjust everything using the swiftpoint, just rolling it on the couch arm. This is probably its best feature and most common use right now!
ps
The only change I would like to make is not actually to the swiftpoint, but to my macbook pro, which stupidly has its two usb ports very close together on one side of the computer, so that it is difficult to use more than one usb device at a time, since most devices (even usb keys) cover access to the second usb port. Since I now want to leave my swiftpoint connected all the time, I hope that Apple will rectify this in the next design update to the macbook pro.
