(More customer reviews)Oh, it's a great idea, in theory. To be able to have cellphone conversations while driving down the road, without holding one's phone, without a stupid headset, rather just talking naturally, with the other person's voice coming out crisp and clean through the car stereo speakers. Beautiful.
And maybe that's what it's like, if you have a car with a properly integrated bluetooth system. If you don't, there's the Scosche DIYBRH. You plug it into your cigarette lighter plug, and into your audio system's auxiliary input, and you're good to go. Its microphone picks up your voice, and trasmits the whole conversation through the speakers. A bargain at $90 or so. Right?
Wrong. This product should never have been released into the market. It is a total piece of junk. Sound quality is absolutely awful. The microphone barely works. Worst of all, the lighter plug is so badly designed that the slightest bump causes the whole unit to turn off, instantly breaking the connection and shutting off the call. And every time that happens, you have to go through a complex process of re-syncing it with your cellphone, because it has no memory or backup battery for connections whatsoever. What it adds up to is, this ended up being an absolutely worthless piece of cheap plastic. I would never consider buying a product from this company again and strongly suggest that you avoid this one.
